Block Senders or Mark Email as Junk in Outlook.com

 

If you're getting too much spam or junk email, follow these steps to keep your Inbox free of unwanted email:

  •          Mark email as junk or spam in Outlook.com
  1.  Select the messages you want to mark as junk.
  1.  At the top of the screen, select Junk > Junk (or Spam > Spam) to move the message to your Junk or Spam folder.

 

  •          Block someone in Outlook.com
  1.  Select the messages from senders you want to block, then choose Junk > Block (or Spam > Block).
  1.  To block junk senders, go to your Junk Email folder and select any messages you have marked as Junk, then choose Not junk > Block (or Not spam > Block).

 

Notes: 

  • If you discover that an email message was not actually junk, select the message in your Junk Email folder and, on the toolbar, select Not junk Not junk or Not spam Not spam.
  • Items in your Junk Email folder are deleted automatically after 30 days. Select an item to see when it will be deleted.

 

  •         Use your Blocked Senders and Domain lists

User may use this feature to block individuals or organizations.

 

  1. Open Blocked senders and domains and select Add.
  • Click on settings > View all Outlook settings in the bottom of the panel
  • Click on Mail  and choose Junk Email
  1. Type the email address or domain that you want to block and press Enter.
  1. Select Save.

 

Notes: 

  • If you don't want messages from a specific person or domain to end up in your Junk Email folder, add the sender to your Safe senders list.
  • To remove someone from a list, select  next to the email address or domain.
  • You can have up to 1,024 addresses or domains in the Blocked senders and Safe senders lists. If you want to add more than that, try blocking domains instead of individual email addresses.
