How to change the server timeouts in Microsoft Outlook 2007

If you're having problems downloading your email from our server or finding it is timing out, try increasing the server timeout setting in Account Settings. This will give your mail more time to download and may prevent it timing out.

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click Tools and select Account Settings
  3. Highlight your email account and click Change under the E-mail tab
  4. Click More Settings
  5. Select the Advanced tab
  6. Slide the bar to 5 minutes under Server Timeouts
  7. Click OK, Next and Finish
