Starting March 2026, the SSL certificate organizations will have to gradually adopt shorter lifespan certificates with changes to maximum validity periods. SSL certificates will be issued with a maximum validity of 200 days, which is just over six months.
This change takes effect on any SSL certificates issued on or after 15 March 2026. SSL certificates issued before this date with longer validity periods will continue to function normally. The SSL certificate with reduced lifespan should be renewed a minimum of two times per year.
Therefore, reissue and reinstall SSL certificates are required to ensure the coverage is continuous without any gap. The reissue will be using existing domain validation which means the reissue process completes automatically and newly SSL certificates will be able to download immediately.
If you do change the Certificate Signing Request (CSR) or modify existing validation details, some level of revalidation may be required before the new SSL Certificates can be issued. Choosing a different validation method may also introduce additional processing time. Reinstall the newly SSL certificate will be managed by the Webserver Team for any web or application under our server management and there is no further action needed on client's end.
Despite the increasing frequency of renewals, the cost spent on certificates should still remain the same for 1 year of coverage for the certificate. Meanwhile, reissue SSL certificates at no additional cost. This means you only pay for the coverage period.
